Just happened to encounter some issue with the Fanco ceiling fan installed some time back and I thought it maybe good to share it with you.
Although it is still less than a year and supposingly to be still under warranty....
Well, the fan is operating at 'crawling' speed set at speed 1. Yes, really crawling and sometimes you won't know if it will start off or not. However, setting the speed at 2 will generate reasonable wind to cool you down.
A little about the experience I had when calling up the Fanco Fan agent in Singapore.
They mentioned that the warranty covers only the spare parts. To get the service technician to check the fan, consumer need to pay S$25 for transport and S$15 for servicing. That is S$40 in total to fix a small issue. Another option for consumer to save cost, the Fanco Fan agent suggested that consumer dismantle the fan together with the remote controller and bring it to their service centre.
Do they think it is so easy for consumer to bring it down? Then why do they need 2 guys to do the installation at the first place? I found a link where a dissatisfied user posted his unhappiness for the support he's getting.
Anyway, as mentioned in the link, changing the remote control and receiver will solve the problem.
But I don't think I will be doing it so soon, unless I have to resort to using speed 3 just to turn on the fan.
So much said, looks like it is a norm and nothing much we can complain about. The warranty stated Life-Time Warranty for motor only.
Here is a picture of the model I have in my living room.
